My primary home short sale is at a standstill because of a judgement. I heard that there is a way to resolve this, but I am at a loss… can anything be done?

Yes, you may be able to get things moving again if the property is a primary home short sale. The Florida Constitution provides protection to homesteaded property owners so that judgements from credit card companies could not attach to or affect the interest in one’s homesteaded property.

Check out my video on the topic; "Can a Junior Lien Impact Your Primary Home Short Sale?". I will also be making a blog post about this in the upcoming weeks, giving you even more detailed instruction on how the “Notice of Homestead” works.

If you need immediate assistance in preparing or recording the Notice of Homestead, please contact us online or call our office at (239) 985-4142 – we’d be happy to help!
